In short
- The basic ticket is Duomo + Museum, €10 at the official price (€5 reduced); on Wednesdays, when the Museum is closed, it is Duomo only at €8.
- To add the rooftop, Duomo and Terraces costs €22 by stairs or €26 by lift at official prices.
- Since 1 November 2026 official tickets work only on the date you choose, so older pages promising two days or 72 hours are out of date.

If the Museum matters to you on a Duomo and Terraces ticket, read the inclusions at checkout before you pay. The Museum and Archaeological Area pages cover those two in detail.
After you buy
- Time slot. On terrace tickets it is your time at the terrace entrance; on Duomo + Museum and Culture Pass, at the cathedral entrance. Entry outside your slot is at staff discretion, so don't count on leeway.
- Change of plan. Official tickets allow one free Date Change, same ticket type, requested within 3 months of purchase and at least 1 working day before the visit. The Fabbrica can decline it.
- Bad weather. An official refund applies only if access is totally prevented, less any pre-sale commission.
- Keep the ticket. It is validated again at the exit.
Reduced and free entry
Reduced tickets are for children aged 6–18 and for school and religious groups. Children up to 5, people with disabilities and their helpers, and group guides enter free, as do military personnel (not on Fast-Track). Free tickets must be collected at a ticket office desk, and any free or reduced ticket needs an identity document.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to book Duomo tickets in advance?
It is not compulsory: the ticket offices at Piazza Duomo 14/A and inside the Museum sell tickets until 70 minutes before closing, so 17:50 on a regular day. Booking ahead fixes your date and time slot before you travel.
Is the price the same online and at the ticket office?
The Veneranda Fabbrica said in April 2025 that the official price is the same at the desk and online. Partner prices are their own and appear in the ticket rows.
How long is a Duomo ticket valid?
Official tickets are valid only on the selected date, with one entry per area. The exceptions: Culture Pass and Fast-Track Pass allow the Museum on the following day, and the Combo Stairs + Pinacoteca Ambrosiana allows the Ambrosiana within the two days after your date.
Can I get a refund on a Duomo ticket?
Official tickets are non-refundable, with one free Date Change as the alternative. Partner tickets have their own conditions: where a ticket row shows free cancellation, that term is the partner's.
Which website sells official Duomo tickets?
The Veneranda Fabbrica sells through its own website. This site is an independent guide, not that site. Buy only from the Fabbrica or an authorised reseller, because tickets from unauthorised sellers can lead to refused entry.
