Duomo and La Scala on the same day

The Galleria links the two, so one day easily covers both.

  • Galleria links both
  • Museum last entry 17:00
  • Auditorium view not guaranteed

In short

  • La Scala's museum opens daily 9:30–17:30, last entry 17:00, an hour before the Duomo's last entry, so go there first on a late start.
  • The museum ticket lets you look into the auditorium from third-tier boxes only when no rehearsal, show or event is on.
  • From Piazza Duomo to Piazza della Scala is about 200 m through the Galleria.
  • A combined guided ticket covers both with priority entry to the cathedral: check the tags on each row.

A simple order for the day

  1. Morning: the Duomo. Visitors enter from 9:00. Take the Duomo ticket for an early slot, with the rooftop if you want it.
  2. Midday: the Galleria. Leave by the square and walk through to Piazza della Scala, about 200 m under the glass roof.
  3. Afternoon: La Scala Museum. Be in before the 17:00 last entry.

If you start late, flip it: La Scala first, then the Duomo, which takes last entry at 18:00. Check the calendar of changes first, because celebrations sometimes stop cathedral admissions early.

The auditorium catch

If the hall is what you want to see, it isn't guaranteed. A museum ticket gives you a look in from the third-tier boxes only when the theatre is free of rehearsals, shows and events. Read what a guided ticket promises before you book, and don't plan the day around that view.

Museum prices

The museum's own full ticket is €12 (reduced €8) until 31 December 2026, or €15 as an open ticket, with an online fee on top. Prices from 2 January 2027 were not available at our last check.

Worth adding between the two

HIGHLINE Milano, the walkway above the arcade, is entered from the Piazza della Scala side, so it fits at the end of the walk. It closes on Mondays; hours, prices and rules are on the Galleria page. To pair the cathedral with Leonardo instead, see the Duomo and the Last Supper.
