Planning your day around the clock
- Whole complex in one day. Start at 9:00 with the cathedral or the rooftop, since the Museum opens only at 10:00. The St Charles Crypt has the shortest hours of all, so plan around it.
- Afternoon visit. Tickets stop at 17:50 at the ticket offices, 70 minutes before closing. If you need to buy on the spot, don't leave it to the last ten minutes. The office at Piazza Duomo 14/A has three steps; the step-free one is in the Museum, closed on Wednesdays.
- Fast-track. It has narrower hours and is seasonal. See skip-the-line.
- Rooftop in the evening. Later openings only exist in set periods: see sunset and night.
- Sundays and feast days. The Archaeological Area is often interrupted during celebrations. If you want to attend, Mass times are listed separately, and entry for worship is free.
Help on the day
